Official Dover Athletic Football Club - Youth Teams - Ramsgate U14s 1-0 DAFC U14s
Ramsgate U14s 1-0 DAFC U14s Paul Evison | Wed 28th Mar 2012
Dover put in a spirited performance in the final game of the season making Champions Ramsgate struggle for their 1-0 win. Dover’s solid defence and tireless running by the midfield denied Ramsgate any clear cut goal scoring opportunities in the first period and Ramsgate came out eager to score in the second half. The second period was more open than the first with Dover creating a number of chances on the break, but they couldn’t find the killer shot to score against a team that has only conceded 4 league goals all season. Dover’s defence again stood firm and together with some inspired keeping by Luke Hogben looked like denying Ramsgate the win, but as the game entered the last 10 minutes a cross from right fell to an unmarked Ramsgate forward to score the only goal of the game. A great all round team performance Luke Hogben, Daniel Partridge, Ethan Mallery, Wesley Maggs, Harry Miles, George Dowle, Liam Smith, Hayden Chandler, Philip Thompson, Jack Saunders, Joe Hammond, Connor Miller and David Hart.
