Athletic had a mixed squad of both U18 and U16s as a lot of players are injured. Dover started the stronger team and played some excellent football creating chance after chance but could not convert. It was Invicta who scored first with their first attack of the game, a low cross from the left was not dealt with by Athletic to make it 1-0. This soon became 2-0 when a corner was not cleared and Folkestone were quicker to react. Dover still dominated the game and Mikesh PATEL got a sneaky back heel volley to make it 2-1. Invicta then got a break and an excellent finish from their striker with a lob volley made it 3-1 at half time.
Athletic carried on the momentum and created a load more chances but had no luck until the 85th minute when Luke Ransley was fouled in the box and Jordan GEALER converted. 3-2 final score. An excellent effort from everyone in the squad.
