Dean Rance signed for Dover Athletic in May 2012 from Gillingham.

The central midfielder joined Whites on loan in March 2012 and Nicky Forster moved quickly to bring him back to Crabble after he left Priestfield.

Dean experienced Blue Square Bet South football with Bishop's Stortford in 2011 and also enjoyed loan spells with Maidstone United in 2010.

He joined Gillingham's Centre of Excellence aged eight and progressed through their youth set-up, finishing the 2009–10 season as the youth team's top goalscorer.

Dean signed his first professional contract in May 2010 and made his first team debut for Gillingham in November 2011 as a substitute in an FA Cup first round replay against Bournemouth.
