WHITES SIGN YOUNG STRIKER
MATTHEW BATT has joined Dover Athletic as caretaker-manager Terry White's first signing.

The striker has joined the club on a dual registration basis - meaning he is still a registered Dagenham player, but eligible to play for Whites too.

Terry said: "Matthew comes to us on recommendation from Dagenham manager John Still. We needed to bring in someone who could fill the void left in our squad by Chris Chase's departure.

"We're going to take a look at Matthew here and see how things go. Hopefully, he can add something to the team.

"Our priority remains a creative midfield player and we're currently working on a number of things to get that area covered.

"It's not proving easy to find players at the moment. I could easily go out and sign players, but we're not going to bring someone in for the sake of it.

"We need to sign the right kind of player - one that will improve our squad."

Matthew, who has been excelling for Daggers' Academy side, was an unused substitute for Dagenham last Saturday, when they beat Woking 3-2 at Victoria Road.

Wild rumours suggesting Whites have or are signing Will Graham from Ramsgate are nonsense.

Terry laughed: "Not sure where that one has come from. If I'd signed him or wanted to sign him, I think I'd know about it."
